Will I need to modify the front air dam to use this hitch? 2012 Escape front hitch

My contact in Tech Services at Curt Manufacturing has confirmed that you will need to trim a 2-1/4 by 2-1/2 inch hole in the air dam under the front bumper cover to allow the receiver to pass through it.
This is shown in the photo I provided, which came from the install instructions which I have linked you to.
