Will the Swagman XTC-2 clear the hatch on a 2012 Outback both in the upright and/or folded position?

On the Swagman XTC-2 Bike Carrier, part # S64670, the wheel hoop arms will fold up to the upright center arm into a vertical position for storage. With the upright center arm and the wheel hoop arms in the vertical upright position it will not allow you to open the rear hatch on your 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon.
With the wheel hoop arms in the folded down position and the center upright arm folded down against the wheel hoop arms it will allow you to open the rear hatch on your vehicle. I am including a link to a video review of the Swagman bike rack being installed on a 2008 Subaru Outback Wagon. The vehicle might be a little different from your 2012 model, but it will show you how it fits on the vehicle.
The Swagman bike rack has a weight capacity of 70 lbs for two bikes or 35 lbs per bike maximum.
