Question:
does the air for the RM8700 come from the control box under the seat?

Expert Reply:
The Roadmaster InvisiBrake you referenced, part # RM-8700 has a small compressor in the control box that provides the necessary air pressure to actuate the towed vehicles brakes when needed. Although the box is typically mounted under the seat, it can be mounted anywhere in the vehicle that allows access to the adjustment knob.
I have linked you to an install video showing the InvisiBrake being installed on a 2002 Jeep Liberty. Although the install is for a different vehicle than yours, the video will give you a good idea of what the install entails.
