Question:
My truck has no 7 or 4 blade hook-ups. I would like to install a 7 blade plug-in and brake controller. Is this possible in a plug-in set up? what do I need and how much will it cost? Thank you

The first thing you will need to install a brake controller on your 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 is a 4-way. For that I would recommend you get a Tow Ready Wiring Harness # 118329. I attached installation instructions and an installation video for this product for you to check out.
Next, you will need to convert the 4-way into a 7-way. For that you will need a Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an installation video for this product also.
Since you do not have the tow package on your vehicle a plug and play type of brake controller harness is not available.
Once you have that installed you would be ready to install a brake controller like the Hopkins Agility Electric Brake Controller # HM47294 that you referenced. I attached installation instructions for this product as well.
Our best selling brake controller is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller # 90885. The reason for that is because of how easy it is to setup and use, as well as how well it performs.
