Will Ultra-Fab Pin Box # UF35-946202 Provide Clearance Between 2009 Wildcat Fifth Wheel and Truck

Question:

will Ultra-fab rota flex pin box help with my clearence on a F250 super duty king ranch short bed? i think the bed is 6-3/4ft. The rv is a 2009 wildcat by forestriver. The 5th wheel hitch is BandW companion non-slider.

The Ultra-Fab Pin Box you referenced most likely will not provide you with enough clearance between the truck and the fifth wheel. We typically recommend using a sliding hitch for truck beds shorter then 8 feet but longer than 6 feet. Since this is not an option with the B and W Companion fifth wheel hitch you currently have, your best bet would be to use a Gooseneck to 5th wheel adapter like the Ranch Hitch, part # AM3139. A Fifth Airborne Sidewinder is typically recommended to provide more clearance, but it is also not compatible with your hitch.

The adapters are not compatible with any of the cushioned pin boxes like the Ultra-Fab Rota-Flex, so you would want to be sure to use the OEM pin box.

Be sure to consult Forest River to determine if your fifth wheel is compatible with the Ranch Hitch I recommended.

A slide hammer, part # AM3103 is recommended to make installing the collet easier. A safety chain kit, part # AM3109, is also recommended.
