There are specific 5th wheel installation kits for the 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 depending on the bed length of your truck. If you have an 8 foot bed, 6-1/2 foot bed, or 5-1/2 foot bed you can use custom installation kit # RP50064-58 or universal kit # RP30035. I have included installation detail links for you to view that will show you how to mount the below bed brackets.
The difference between the kits is the amount of drilling required and the average time for installation. The custom kit requires much less drilling and about 2.5 hours on average to install. The universal kit requires more drilling and requires on average up to 5 hours.
