Where to Install Fuses for a Brake Controller on a 2009 Chevy Silverado

Question:

I have a 2009 silverado. Where and what fuses do i need to instal?

Expert Reply:

On your 2009 Silverado, no plug is present under the dash, but the wires are already run. You only need to splice the brake control wires together with those already present under the dash.

If you find that the wiring is not completed under the hood for the accessory power and the brake controller power, then you will connect the wires (see video link) under the hood to the studs on your fuse panel.

The fuses are typically just inside the fuse panel for these studs. If not, you will have to insert a 30 amp fuse on the brake controller side and a 40 amp fuse on the accessory power side.
