Will a Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch and Swagman Trailhead Bike Rack Fit a 2012 Volkswagen Golf TDI

I have a 2012 Golf TDI 4-dour, on which I want to install a hitch-mounted 2-bike rack. I was considering the Swagman S63360 rack and the Draw-Tite hitch. Q1: will these two items fit well together with no clearance or rubbing issues? Q2: do I need to purchase any accessories separately in order for these to items to mount or be usable together as they will ship from your store?

The Draw-Tite trailer hitch, # 24825, will fit a 2012 Volkswagen Golf TDI. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. This is a Class I trailer hitch so you will need to use Class I rated accessories.

The Swagman Trailhead, # S63360, will fit a Class I trailer hitch so there are no compatibility issues there. The other important thing to consider is clearance from the hitch pin hole on the hitch, once installed, back to the distance required to clear the rear of the vehicle.

On the Trailhead, it measures 11 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar of the rack. This will be enough extension to clear the rear of the vehicle and carry the bikes safely.

Because everything is compatible and will fit without interference, you will not need any additional parts to mount the bike rack in the hitch. I have included a link to the installation instructions for the bike rack as well.
