Question:
Just purchased a Homesteader 6X12 Patriot. Pulling it with a 2001 Dodge Durango SLT. Using it to haul a single Harley Softail. Be honest, did not even think about Sway control, it seemed to ride good bringing it home empty. The trailer has a somewhat low tongue, Im using a 4inch for the ball. Is sway control needed for a small trailer like this? It does stand higher than the Durango, so it has got me thinking about it. What system recomended if needed?

Take the loaded trailer out for a few test runs, including a short run on an interstate. Crosswinds and turbulence caused by passing tractor trailers will quickly tell you if trailer sway will be a problem for you.
If sway is a problem, properly loading the trailer will go a long way to controlling trailer sway. Make sure the bike is as far forward of the trailer axle as you can get it, because more tongue weight helps eliminate trailer sway. If moving the bike forward is not feasible, try moving other gear as far forward in the trailer as possible.
A Friction Sway Control unit like part # 83660 would help control trailer sway, if moving the bike forward in the trailer does not help. A sway control bracket, like part # RP26003 would also be needed.
