I am very interested in this product but i do have some concerns. My tow vechile is 07 F150 extend cab 5.4l 4x4 the trailer i have recently purchased is a 96 23 Terry travel trailer. I have looked around and can only find the dry weight of 3800lbs. It has 40 gallon water tank which is usually full. In the bed of the truck i usually carry maybe 100-150 extra pounds. Tralier usually stays empty except for the water tank. Will this hitch work? it seems to have a high rating please let me know thank you

I have reviewed the system you are interested in and calculated the items you normally tow. A 40 gallon water tank is around 334 lbs (8.35 lbs per gallon) and with 150 lbs in your truck bed and normally nothing else being carried, you have somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 lbs to consider for your tongue weight.

I would recommend product # RP66541, the Reese Trunnion Weight Distribution System. The tongue weight range on this system is 400 - 800 lbs, and it has GWT of 10,000 lbs. This application utilizes tapered spring bars. This system falls within your current towing weight ranges. It is a good fit for your current towing and weight distribution needs; it will allow you to gain the maximum benefit from the system.
