Carrying a 1960s Beach Cruiser Bike in the Back of a Truck

Question:

Dear Sir, I have a 1960 ladies beach cruiser. I would like to carry in the back of our truck. I would like to know if this item would work. Thanks for your help,

This item is made for bikes with the quick release on the front wheel. On your 1960's Beach Cruiser the front wheel is most likely mounted with nuts on the ends of the axle, and it would require tools to remove and replace the tire each time you wanted to mount the bike in the truck or remove the bike and reinstall the front wheel/tire.

A better option for you may be the UG2500 Topline truck bed mounted bike carrier which does not require removal of the front tire. If that doesn't seem to work for you the TH501 truck bed mounted bike rack is nice but may interfere with your front fender if your cruiser has one. I have posted a link to the video on this product for you below.

A hitch mounted bike carrier (see link below), if you have a receiver hitch, may be an option also. If you do not have a receiver hitch, but your truck bumper has a mounting hole for a hitch ball and the bumper is rated for enough tongue weight, the TR63133 hitch ball mounted bike rack may work for you as well. If none of these options work for you, let me know and I will try to come up with something that will work.
