Question:
I have a Coachman 2012 30 5th wheel trailer and I want to install a reciver hitch on the back to pull my 2006 Triton Boat. It weighs between 2500lbs and 3000lbs not sure what the tongue weight is. The bumber is a 4x4 thin metal attached to a 2x3 channel tube welded to the frame. I was looking at installing the unit to the 2x3 Channel tube and welding it in place. What would be the correct hitch I would need to buy.

Expert Reply:
The hitch that I recommend most that fits most anything is the Curt hitch, # 13703. It will fit frames from 22 inches to 72 inches wide. It can be bolted or welded on (welding should be performed by a qualified professional). It fits box, C-Channel, or I-Beam frames.
The capacity is 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.
Please note that in many states, it is illegal to tow a trailer behind another trailer. Make sure to check the laws in your area and in places you will be traveling. Towing one trailer behind another is not a practice we recommend and I advise against it for safety.
