Question:
Can you tell me the approx. ground clearance when this hitch is installed on the 2012 Highlander SE? The 2012 SE has 17 inch wheels.

Although we have not had the opportunity to install the # 72726 on a 2012 Highlander, we do have an install video showing a Curt Class III receiver, part # 13534 being installed on a 2011 Highlander (click provided link).
As you can see if you compare the Draw-Tite # 75726 and the Curt Hitch, dimensionally they are very similar. When installed, the Curt hitch offers 12 inches of ground clearance, when measured from the underside of the receiver opening to the ground. That distance should be very similar to that of the Draw-Tite model, due to their similarities.
You can make some measurements to confirm this. According to my contacts at Draw-Tite, the top of the # 75726 receiver will be within 1/2 of an inch of the bottom of the bumper fascia. The outside dimension of the receiver tube is 3 inches. If you measure the distance from the bottom edge of the bumper fascia to the ground and subtract 3-1/2 inches you will have the approximate amount of ground clearance.
I have linked you to the install instructions for the # 75726.
