Question:
splicing in a 4 way wiring harness for my boat trailer.. All the lights work except the brake lights.. i have running lights, i have left and right turn signals, but when brake is applied the lights do not get any brighter.. they dont shut off.. so i dont suspect a ground problem.... my vehicle brake lights work just fine.. they turn brighter when brake is applied.. when all lights of vehicle are off and brake is applied, still no lights at all.. when all lights are off and turn signals are applied the trailer lights do what they are supposed to do.. i checked the pin settings with my little test light and it shows that my turn signal is a different wire than my brake light.. how do i connect up the 4 way to make it so i have brake lights on my trailer.. thank you in advanced

The problem you are experiencing is because you have tail lights on your 2006 Dodge Durango and the brake lights are on a separate circuit from the turn signals. You will need a converter box so that you can convert that signal so that your trailer with combined tail lights can be used with your vehicle.
What I recommend you get is a Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118390 for your Durango. This harness will plug in-line with your tail lights and has the necessary converter so that your tail lights will function properly.
Check out the installation instructions and installation video I attached that shows this product being installed on a very similar 2006 Dodge Durango as yours.
