Question:
2011 Toyota Venza, backup lights and license plate in lift gate. Bottom of license plate is 30inch off the ground. Can I mount the HM60100VA with the sensor at the bottom of the plate for closer coverage? If mounted with sensor at the top, can I angle one down and one straight back? Thanks

Yes, the Hopkins Backup Sensor System item # HM60100VA, can be mounted upside down. However, if your rear bumper protrudes out below the license plate, then the backup sensor will not be able to pickup items that are low to the ground. The sensor might then need to be adjusted upward, creating a larger blind spot, to keep it from sensing the bumper. You will also be exposing the sensors to more weather and road debris in the lower position.
You will want to have the sensors pointed in the same direction otherwise you will get inconsistent activation of the alert.
