Is Mud Flap Removal Required When Installing the Westin Oval Tube Steps on a 2011 Toyota 4Runner

Can I install these nerf bars on my 2011 4Runner SR5 with the front mud flaps in place? Or, do I have to remove the mud flaps and reinstall?

I spoke with my technical contact at Westin and he said that removal of the OEM mud flaps is not required when installing the Westin Oval Nerf Bars, # 21-3580, on your 2011 Toyota 4Runner.

He did mention that the tube step will fit very close to the front mud flaps on your vehicle.
