The Hopkins Multi Tow Harness you referenced, part # 42615 will allow you to tow any trailer equipped with a 4-pole trailer connector. An adapter like part # 37185 would plug into the 4-pole, retain its function, and allow you to tow a trailer equipped with a 7-way connector. The adapter would plug into the existing 4-pole (once you install it). The adapter has 4 wires exiting it that might or might not need to be connected, depending on the trailers you are wanting to tow. The white ground wire would need to ground to the vehicle frame. The blue wire carries voltage from a brake controller to actuate electric trailer brakes.

If none of the trailers you tow are equipped with trailer brakes, this wire can be taped up out of the way. The black wire carries 12-volts used for any trailer-mounted accessories that might need power. Once again, it can be capped off if not needed. The purple wire usually powers reverse lights on the trailer. If needed, it can be tapped into the reverse light circuit on the tow vehicle.
