Question:
This will be installed on a 2005 Dodge Dakota 4X4 SLT Crew Cab. Since the transmitter must remain dry, can it be put in a water tight box and mounted above the spare, bumper, bedwall, etc? One of the suggestions was not to splice the big wire, was that correct?

Our contact at Peak Performance said the Peak Wireless Back-Up Camera, part # PK015737, can be sealed in a plastic Zip Lock type bag or in a sealed plastic project box with minimal interference. The transmitter for the camera has a range of 75 feet.
You will not want to splice into the wire that connects the backup camera to the transmitter. If you are needing to extend the distance between the camera and the transmitter I have the Peak Extension Cord, part # PKCORD. This cord will give you an additional 25 feet.
I am including a link to a video of the Peak back-up camera being installed on a vehicle.
