Will Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack Allow Thule Kayak Carrier # TH835PRO To Be Level on 2009 Chevy Impala

Question:

I am looking into purchasing the Thule AeroBlade system for my Impala. My concern is that because of the curve of the roof, the AeroBlades will not be level. Thus, any attachments I add for carrying my kayak will also not be level i.e. a poor fit on the hull. Is this an issue that people have encountered or does the fit kit eliminate this?

The Thule AeroBlade system is an excellent roof rack system for your 2009 Chevrolet Impala. The load bars will be level when installed properly on the roof of your vehicle.

The Thule Roof Rack Fit Kit, part # THKIT1531, will include foot pads that are contoured to the roof of your Chevrolet Impala. These foot pads are vehicle specific. See attached picture of the foot pad.

The foot pad and the included mounting brackets will attach to the bottom of the Thule Rapid Traverse Foot Pack, part # TH480R, and provide a base for the Thule AeroBlade Load Bars, part # THARB53, to be level on the roof of your vehicle.

The Thule Hull-A-Port Kayak Carrier, part # TH835PRO, that you have referenced, will fit on the Thule AeroBlade system on your vehicle.

I am including a link to a video of the Thule roof rack system being installed on a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. This installation would be similar to the one on your Impala.
