Propoertional Brake Controller for a 2007 GMC Yukon

Question:

I have a 2007 GMC yukon Danalli It al ready has most if not all the wiring. I asume a proportional controller is the way to go. I will be towing a 26ft enclosed 4 place snowmobile trailer with tandom axels. Can you recomend a specfic model and location for instalation. And anything else you think I need to know.

Expert Reply:

I would agree that you should get a proportional brake controller. The Tekonsha Prodigy, part # 90185 is our top selling brake controller. In the 2007 model year GM did not put a port under the dash for the brake controller, just a harness that terminates in bare wires. Under your dash above where your left shin would be if you were behind the wheel, you will find the tow package wiring bundled up to a larger wiring harness. There should be a white tag tied to the tow package wiring, which should make them easier to locate. These wires will connect to the brake controller, but they do not all connect color for color. I will provide you with a link to one of our installation videos, which will walk you through the installation process, as well as show which color wires connect where.
