Can the Arms of the Softride Dura Be Secured to Prevent Theft

Question:

I am interested in the Softride 4 Bike/Ski Rack. How are the slide-out arms for the bike and ski attachments secured? In the bike rack review video at 2:38, it seems someone could just slide the arms out and steal the ski rack attachment entirely with the skis in it. Are there holes to add padlocks or locking pins? Thanks

I spoke with my contact at Softride and he informed me that in order to prevent theft of the arms and possibly your bikes with this Softride Dura 4 Bike Rack # SR26247 you would need to use the included cable that comes out of the back of the rack and ran it to the yellow loop on the front of the arms of this rack and then secure it with a pad lock of your choice and you would prevent anyone from stealing the arms and your bikes by just removing the arms.

For a padlock you could use a Master Lock Covered, Solid Body Padlock # 131D.

I attached both of the review videos and installation instructions for this product for you to check out also.
