Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Options for a 2008 Acura MDX

Question:

Im not really too sure why the newer body MDXs are off the fitment list, as there are lots of cars it does fit with similar back ends. We have cruiser bikes for my girls and regular racks dont work because of the swoopy frame. We need a rack like this one and we dont have a hitch not really going to pay $600 to put one in. The 08 MDX has a stout bumber with a good lip, so the denting issues others have are not a problem. Just wondering if it fits, and what is so different about the 08 MDX if it doesnt. Thanks!

I checked with Thule and the reason Thule Raceway Platform Bike Rack # TH9003 is not confirmed to fit the 2008 Acura MDX is because there is no safe place to attach the top straps of the rack.

There are other trunk mounted bike rack options for you. While they are not platform style racks you could use a frame adapter like the Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bar # Y02531 with a Yakima QuickBack Trunk Mounted Bike Rack # Y02621.

The frame adapter runs from the seat post to the handlebars of the bike forming a sturdy, horizontal bar which makes virtually any bike compatible with a hanging style rack. I attached a review video for this product for you to check out also.
