For a 2012 Ford F-250 Diesel short bed, the correct kit is the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit, # RP50073-58, that you have referenced. This kit accommodates the DEF tank on diesel models. Because this is a custom installation kit you will not have to drill to install the frame brackets. I have included a link to a video showing a typical installation of this kit.
If your truck has a bed shorter than 6 feet, you would have to use a standard 5th wheel hitch and a Sidewinder. A Sidewinder moves the pivot point of the trailer back 22 inches from the hitch jaw center. In order to determine if a Sidewinder will offer enough clearance to safely make 90 degree turns, there is a formula you can follow in the FAQ article I linked for you. Then, to determine if there is a Sidewinder made for your trailer, you will need the pin box manufacturer and model number.
