Question:
Are the Butterfly vents waterproof? Do they stay closed as your travel? thanks in advance.

Expert Reply:
This Butterfly Vent # 371800 that you referenced is not waterproof. If the vent was on the side of the trailer it would not get direct water sprayed at it when it is raining so it should not let too much moisture through.
If you left the vent in either the open or closed position it would move. The amount of friction in the vent assembly would prevent it from moving just from the vibrations of the trailer rolling down the road. With that being said, it is not difficult by any means to open or close the vent either.
If you are looking for mounting screws you would want Wood Screws # 30587.
