Question:
I am trying to source a 12inch suspension equalizer. Do you know if one is commercially available? I intend to use it to spread the 6000lb axles on my trailer. Thanks for your help.

Expert Reply:
For double eye springs, the longest I could find was the 8 inch # TREQR83, or # TREQR89. But, for slipper springs, there are some longer options. Closest to 12 inches we have the 11-1/2 inch # TREQ4541.
You will want to be careful when moving axles because if they are too far apart, one set of wheels could drag the ground as you turn. It could also change the tongue weight of the trailer and you will need to account for any changes made when towing.
There could be additional different parts you will need like springs of a different length and/or shackle straps of a different length.
I have included some links to our FAQ articles on trailer suspension for you.
