Question:
I received the trailer hitch cover, but am disappointed because the bottle opener does not work. It seems to be a little too small. Have you tried to open a bottle with it? I love it otherwise. I believe this may be a design fault. Can you please advise?

Although it is not as easy to use as some traditional bottle openers, Tommy did test out a tailgater hitch cover with the same bottle opener as the # AH-41102 and was able to get it to work.
It took a little additional muscle and getting the bottle to exactly the right angle to get the opener to catch the cap properly. At first it seems a bit too small for the cap, but the entire cap should not really be inserted in the opening. Basically, you press the top of the bottle cap against the tongue in the center of the opening, which makes an indention and forces the cap far enough in to grab the lip of the bottle opener. You then lift up the bottle to catch the bottle cap on the lip of the opener, and pull downward to pop the cap off the bottle.
The bottle opener works best when mounted in a hitch, because being mounted prevents the hitch cover from moving around while you are trying to get enough leverage to open the bottle.
Tommy made a short video for you, see link, showing him using a tailgater hitch cover with the same bottle opener.
