To install the Pilot Brake Controller, part # 80550, on your 2010 Toyota Tacoma with a factory 7-Way connector you will need the Tow Ready Wiring Adapter, part # 20265. This adapter is a pigtail wiring harness that will connect to the wires on your brake controller using the included butt connectors.
With the adapter connected to your brake controller you will now just plug in the other end of the adapter to your factory brake controller port located underneath and left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. There will be a 5-pin connector that mates with the one on the adapter.
That is all that you will need to be able to stop your trailer with the Pilot brake controller.
I am including links to the installation instructions on the # 80550 brake controller and the # 20265 wiring adapter.
