does the shackle bracket go on the front of the leaf springs or the rear?

Expert Reply:
On a single axle with double eye leaf springs, the front eye will be attached to a hanger and the rear eye will be attached to a shackle strap that is attached to a hanger. I have included a picture that shows the basic set up. If you had more than one axle the set up would be different. I have included a link to an FAQ article that covers double eye suspension systems.
