Question:

Im pretty mechanically inclined but not an expert by any means. I own a 2004 Dodge 3500 SLX Dually and would like to put a 5th wheel hitch on it. Is this something best left to an expert or it it something that most guys can accomplish safely and feel confident that it is done correctly?

We offer a custom rail kit for your 2004 Dodge 3500 Dually that requires no drilling of the frame to install. It is Reese Custom Fit part # RP50140-58 and can be viewed online. There are links below to the installation instructions so you can see if this installation would be something you would be comfortable doing yourself. We also have a video of the Reese # RP50140-58 being installed on a 2004 Ram 2500 for you to review as well.
