Will be mounting on front of a John Deere 316 No problem with plate, have welder and torch My question is how to run the wires. It has the dash mount kit with it. Have looked at superwinch site and found the instructions there. But shows the switch mounted on the motor. Do I hook every thing up as shown for the dash mount and then just run the hot and ground down to the winch motor to the two lugs? And also which lug on the winch is hot, which ground, one more thing there is a solenoid in the box but I dont see one used on the website. Looks like a simple solenoid, cylinder shape, has 2 big lugs on each size across from each other and a small one in the center. Is the solenoid needed?

I spoke to my contact at Superwinch and he informed me that to install a Dash Mount Kit # SW1501B you will basically remove the switch from your winch and then use the included wires from the # SW1501B to relocate the switch elsewhere.
When you install this it will not matter which terminal you use for the power and for the ground, you can pick either one. The only difference will be the direction the winch will be turning. If you wire it up one way it will crank one way, and then the other way it will crank the other way. And since the switch will allow you to reverse the direction of the winch you will have control of the direction of the winch either way you wire it up.
I attached an installation video for a winch for you to check out also.
