First, in order to install the Rage Powersports Hitch Cargo Carrier, # SC500, both the 2004 Toyota Highlander and the 2010 GMC Sierra would need to be equipped with a 2 inch trailer hitch. You will then need to measure on each vehicle the distance between the center of the hitch pin hole and the distance required to clear the rear bumper.
If that distance is less than 15-1/2 inches, the carrier will fit when folded down. If that distance is less than 6-1/2 inches, the carrier will fit when folded up. With a scooter loaded it is unlikely you will be able to open the back hatch on the 2004 Toyota Highlander. However, the ramp would make it easy to roll the scooter out of the way to gain access to the rear cargo area. I have included a link to a video review of the carrier for you.
