Question:
How far does the balls drop into the reciever when the gooseneck ball is installed. I am concerned that it does not have the pin like the BandW.

Expert Reply:
The Reese Elite Series Pop-In Ball Kit, # RP30137, will only fit in a Reese Elite Series underbed gooseneck trailer hitch installation kit. If you do not have this kit in your truck, this ball is not going to fit. If you do have this kit, no other ball will fit.
The shank on the ball is 2-3/4 inches long. From the top of the shank to the center of the built-in pin it is 1-1/2 inches. From the center of the pin to the bottom of the shank it is 1-1/4 inches.
It does not pin into place like many other balls. instead, there is a handle on top of the ball that you pull up and turn to lock/unlock the ball in the hitch. We carry many gooseneck hitch balls but none specifically designed for a B and W gooseneck trailer hitch.
