What is the Correct Replacement Mounting Hardware for a Thule Mountaineer Cargo Box

I have an older Mountaineer box that uses hardware similar to style shown in picture of TH05075. Would like to update my hardware. Can I use kit 5820, even if I need to drill new holes in the plastic box? My existing hardware bolts are 4inch on-center. What options do I have? Thanks.

If your Mountaineer cargo box is model number TH669ES (or 669ES) then the Replacement Mounting Hardware, # 05704, would be the correct hardware and you will not have to make an modifications to the box to install it.

For older Mountaineer boxes, the correct replacement hardware is # TH04997. I recommend sticking with the correct replacement hardware because to use a different style, you would have to make modifications to the box and that can compromise the structural integrity of the box.

The # TH05075 hardware that you mentioned would only be needed if you needed extended length, 90mm, carriage bolts to accommodate the cross bars on your vehicle.
