Question:

I have a2002 F-150 w/ a toww pkg.I bought a Tekonsha Voyager controller. It has 4 wire coming out.I have 2 Ford adaptors to plug into my factory gray plug. The factory plug has an extra green wire and 5 lugs.I have a 5 wire adaptor but dont know how to install.Which wires go where.I am lost and need to tow a car this weekend.I assume the blue and white wire go together, but dont know about my red and black from the unit and my brown ,green and red for my 5 lug adaptor. I also have a 4 wire adaptor.

The 4 wires coming off of the controller are coded as follows. Red is wired to the brake switch on the brake pedal, the terminal that gets 12v when the pedal is pressed. The blue goes to the connector on the rear of the vehicle. White is the ground. Black is for the 12v feed from the battery. You might need to use a circuit tester, like part # 3808 to determine what wire does what function.
