i have a 1999 for ranger 3.0 flex fuel will it plug in my port and do i need anything elts peformance wise for it to work ?

Provided that your 1999 Ford Ranger has an OBD-II port, you can use the Edge Insight, # EP83730. You will not need any other parts for it to function. Please note that the Insight is a comprehensive gauge display unit and does not allow you to tune the engine. It can only monitor various parameters such as:
Battery Voltage
Intake Air Temperature (IAT)
Engine Oil Pressure (EOP)
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT)
Engine Oil Temperature (EOT)
Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT)
Miles Per Hour (MPH)
Miles Per Gallon (MPG)
Revolutions Per Minute (RPM)
1/4-mile and 0 - 60 times
