Recommendation for Brake Controller on a 2005 Toyota Tacoma With Tow Package

I have 2005 toyota tacoma, it come with tow package. I like to know what kind of brake controllers are good and easy to install and easy to use.

I would recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885-3040P for your 2005 Toyota Tacoma with tow package. This is a proportional brake controller that will apply power to the trailer brakes in proportion to the braking action of your vehicle.

This brake controller will come with a plug-in vehicle specific adapter for your 2005 Toyota Tacoma. The adapter will plug into the back of the brake controller and the other end will plug into the factory brake controller port on your vehicle. There will be an additional white ground wire on the adapter that will need to be grounded.

The factory brake controller port on your Toyota Tacoma will be located underneath and to the left of the steering column. It will be taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
