Question:
I have been using setting 2 tow on my programmer. I set tire sizes and firm shifting points. How far can I go with shift points? What about advancing or retarding timing? WOT setting? Was trying to balance economy with best performance. Should I just go to level 3?

I contacted our representative at Edge about the Edge Evolution Programmer # EP15051, on your 2005 Ford F-150. He informed me that for the shift points, it really depends on the truck and if there are any other modifications done. If the truck does not have any other performance upgrades, Edge does not recommend messing with the shift points.
You will not be able to advance or retard the timing on your truck with the Edge # EP15051.
With the Wide Open Throttle Setting or (WOT), you will also need to try different settings to see which fits best for your driving style and your truck. You will want to see how the truck reacts to different settings and how you drive the truck.
The Edge representative stated that Level 3 would be a good setting for performance and driving, but for overall economy it depends on how you drive the truck. If you are always on the throttle, you will burn through more fuel. If you are going to be towing, you will want to use level 1 or 2, do NOT use level 3 when towing.
