Cold-Air Intake Comparisons for a 2007 Toyota Tundra

Question:

These are the 2 cold air intakes I was looking at to compare. One is a sealed unit and the other seals when you let the hood down. I was wondering what the difference in these 2 are in comparison to HP, TQ, cleansing efficiency and noise?

Performance-wise, the aFe Direct Fit Cold Air Intake System # AFE51-11172 and the aFe Direct Fit Cold Air Intake System # AFE51-81172 will be virtually identical giving you up to 19 additional horsepower and 27 ft/lbs of torque.

The main difference between the two will be the noise level. The # AFE51-11172 will be slightly louder than the # AFE51-81172. This is due to the cover that is on the # AFE51-81172, it will keep the noise down slightly.

Some people prefer the additional engine noise. It will not be drastically louder, it will sound like a low rumble that might get slightly louder as the rpms climb.
