Installation Instructions for a Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch on a 1999 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

Question:

I HAVE A REESE FIFTHWHEEL HITCH #30026NOT A SLIDER AND A SILVERADO 1999 6 FOOT BOX FLEET SIDE I WANT TO INSTALL IT BUT I NEED TO KNOW WHERE TO PUT THE RAILS IN THE BED.

Expert Reply:

The kit you will need is Reese Universal Fifth Wheel Kit, part # RP30035. I have added a link to the kit and the instructions below.

Since your truck has the short bed on it, I would strongly recommend adding a slider. A slider will prevent the front of your trailer from coming into contact with the rear of your cab during sharp turns. I have added a link to our slider department below.
