I need a brake controller for my 08 Subaru Outback. I have factory trailer hitch and wiring. I also have a 4-pin to 7-pin adapter. The trailer is about 1,500 pounds. Will this unit do the job?

Sure, the Draw-Tite 2-4 Brake Electronic Brake Controller, part # 5100, will work with your 2008 Subaru Outback. You will need to install the necessary additional wiring to operate the brake controller. Most people will purchase the Brake Controller Installation Kit, part # ETBC7, which includes a 4-pole to 7-way and 4-way adapter and all the necessary wire to complete the installation. You will have to hard wire the wires coming out of the back of the 5100 to your Subaru and the wires you will run with the brake controller install kit.
