Is the Included Trailer Pinch Bolt Safe to Use on Rage PowerSport Steel Motorcycle Carrier

Question:

Am I supposed to use a hitch bolt or the pinch bolt when attaching teh MX600 to my 1998 Dodge Durango? The video does not mention a pinch bolt but the instructions have a pinch bolt. Im not familiar with the term pinch bolt. It seems that this replaces the hitch bolt, has smaller diameter, and a spacer that the head of the bolt pushes up against the inner rack tube to secure in place?? Is anything lost with the smaller diameter pinch bolt?

Expert Reply:

The pinch bolt that comes with Rage PowerSport Steel Motorcycle Carrier, # MX600, has a much higher capacity than the rack itself, so it will be more than safe to use in place of a regular itch pin. It also has the added benefit of aiding in anti-rattle and movement of the carrier once it is tightened down.
