Bike Rack Recommendation For a 2011 Ford Fusion that Does Not Use the Rear Bumper For Support

Hi, I purchased this from someone else trunk-mount bike rack for my 2011 Ford Fusion. When I put it together, I saw that it said it could deform the bumper cover over time. Well, that over time took only two uses of the rack and I am now searching for a trunk-mount, 2-bike holder rack that includes a lock - and that wont deform my bumper. What do you suggest??

Since you are concerned about the finish on your 2011 Ford Fusion I would recommend a trailer hitch and hitch mounted bike rack for carrying your bikes. The Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame Receiver Hitch would be a great choice and installs easily with no modifications to your vehicle. We have an installation video for this hitch, see link, and it is the hitch most of our customers who own the 2011 Ford Fusion select.

Next you will need a bike rack. It is not recommended to carry more than two bikes with the Fusion, and for this reason most of our customers choose the Swagman XTC-2 Platform Rack, # S64670. This rack is super easy to load and unload the bikes on, has a raised shank to eliminate clearance issues at the back of the vehicle and folds up compactly for for storage.

At this time I do not know of a trunk mount bike rack design that will fit on the Fusion that does not utilize the rear bumper for support.
