Question:
What is involved in installing this tailgate on my 2011 Silverado 3500 SRW long bed? Does it simply install like the OEM tailgate comes off or is there any disassembly.mod of the latch pins etc? There was no installation info on the product listing.

The installation of the Stromberg Carlson 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate, part # VGM-99-4000, will only take a matter of minutes and does not require any tools.
To begin, you would disconnect the cables attaching your OEM tailgate and remove it from the truck. You would then install the new Stromberg Carlson tailgate and the new cables.
I have spoken to our representative at Stromberg Carlson in the past, and she has informed me that customers have changed our their tailgates at the Stromberg parking lot in a few minutes without tools.
