Question:
I have Reese 66151 Trunnion Bar with Sway Control - 600 lbs very happy With it. Do I need to install additional friction sway control bar on the side? would that help with the sway control or would or it will not make any difference. I have a 26 ft travel trailer wt 4300 lb and a 2005 Toyora 4Runner V6 rated 5000 lb

Since the Reese SC Weight Distribution System, # RP66151, already has friction sway control built in, adding additional sway control will not be necessary. It is possible to add a friction sway control bar, provided there is room enough on the trailer frame for it and it does not interfere with the spring bars.
Too much sway control can result in damage to the weight distribution system and you would have to remove it when backing up and making tight maneuvers. I have included a link to our FAQ article on weight distribution and sway control for you to view.
If you are having sway problems even with this system installed, there are some other measures you can take to help. The best thing you can do is make sure the trailer is properly loaded. Heavier things should go on the bottom and it should be evenly distributed left to right. You may need to move the load forward or backward to get the ideal tongue weight (usually 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight).
