Installation of Thule Sidearm or Yakima HighRoller Bike Carrier to Rola APX Sport Series Roof Rack
Question:
I have these Rola Racks #59831 and Im deciding between the Thule Sidearm and Yakima HighRoller. As these Rolas utilize a universal t-slot, am I correct to assume that I can use the Thule setup with the Xadaptor9 kit I know its designed for the Thule Aero bar, but they also use T-slots? And would I have a similar option/kit with Yakima to consider? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The Thule Sidearm Wheel-Mount Bike Carrier, part # TH594XT does not require the use of a Thule Xadapter kit when attaching to your Rola APX Sport Series Roof Rack, part # 59831. It uses universal mounting clamp hardware that will attach around the crossbars of your Rola rack. The Xadapter kit was only for use with the older Thule 594 bike carrier on the new T-slot crossbars.
To attach the Yakima HighRoller Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part # Y02091 to your Rola APX roof rack you will need to use the Yakima Universal MightyMounts, part # Y03590. Yakima does not use any roof racks with the T-slot design so the universal MightyMounts will have to be used to get the Yakima bike carrier to attach to the Rola crossbars.
