Tips for Attaching Spring Bars to a Trailer with Weight Distribution System # RP66024

Question:

We are finding it very difficult to attach the sway bars and are wondering if their are any hints on how to make this easier?

One tip I can offer is to attach the trailer to the ball like you normally would before trying to attach the spring bars. Then use the trailer jack to lift up on both the trailer and tow vehicle a little. This should make it easier to attach the spring bars.

It is also advisable to make sure the tow vehicle and trailer are on level ground when hooking up. You may also need to adjust the angle of the ball so that it is more towards the tow vehicle side. The instructions, linked for reference, explain the adjustment process.
