How to Carry 4 Bikes on a 2006 Acura RL

The only available trailer hitches for a 2006 Acura RL are Class I trailer hitches. For your vehicle, we carry one hitch, Curt Trailer Hitch, # 11336. Because this is a Class I trailer hitch, you will be limited to bike racks compatible with Class I hitches and you will only be able to carry 2 bikes.

The reason is that any more than 2 bikes will put too much torque and stress on the hitch causing hitch and vehicle damage. The Softride Dura, # SR26247, is only compatible with Class II trailer hitches and above.

Instead, I recommend the Swagman Trailhead, # S63360. This bike rack has a tilting feature, anti-sway cradles, and it compatible with Class I trailer hitches. I have included a link to the installation details for you to view.

To carry an additional 2 bikes you would need to add a roof rack using the following parts:
Q35 Q Clips, # Y00635
Q128 Q Clips, # Y00728
Crossbars, # Y00409
Q Towers, # Y00124
