Expert Reply:
Hanger spacing from center of spring attachment hole to center of shackle link attachment hole is 25-3/4 inches for the # PR4B leaf spring on a single axle trailer.
The # 1724 spring hangers should be spaced so that the shackle straps are on an upward angle toward the front of the trailer, 45 degrees or a bit less is a good starting point, when the weight of the trailer is placed on the axle. We do not have a chart for the # 1724 spring hanger spacing because this spring is normally sold as a replacement part for an OEM built trailer. The # PR4B spring is a much more common spring for building trailers. We have a video, see link, that shows leaf spring replacement on a single axle trailer and you can see the unloaded setup in the video for reference.
The correct axle hanger kit for either of these springs would be the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit, # APS1. You will also most likely need a U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 3,500-lb, Round Trailer Axles, item # APUBR-1 also.
