No modifications need to be done to your 2004 Chevy Colorado in order to flat tow it behind a motor home. If using the tow dolly, # RM-2000-1, or another tow dolly, you will need to make sure that the dolly can accept the width of the truck and the tire size.
The Roadmaster Tow Dolly has wheel nets that will fit 12 inch to 16 inch tires. The axle width is adjustable from 93-1/2 inches to 101-1/2 inches. It also has a 4,380 pound capacity. I have included a link to the installation details that contain additional information for you to view.
