I have a 2010 silver 4.8l...will be towing around 8000 pounds whats the best tranny cooler that fits in my truck...also is ir ok to have tranny cooler when Im not towing... Will my temp b too cool ...I live in central California...thank u

The best transmission cooler for your 2010 Chevrolet Silverado with 4.8 liter engine would be the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13503, along with a snap-in radiator adapter fitting, item # D13035. I have linked a photo showing the recommended installation for this cooler with Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting.
The transmission fluid cannot be cooled too much, so having the transmission cooler installed will only help the life of your transmission. The only time you would need to pay attention because of the cooler would be when you are in sub-zero temperatures, but in these conditions simply warming the truck for a couple of minutes after it has been sitting for several hours with suffice.
Being in California, I suppose that sub-zero temperatures are not too common so you should have no worries unless you are traveling in a colder region.
